A funeral service was held in Vienna, Virginia today for VCU student Taylor Behl. One week after her body was found dumped in a remote ravine in Matthews County, Taylor Behl's family and friends finally laid her to rest.
"The service was beautiful and touching, short and sweet, just like Taylor's life," Janet Pelasara, Behl's mother, said.
The 17-year-old, a freshman at Virginia Commonwealth University, was last seen September 5.
Thirty-eight-year-old Benjamin Fawley is considered a suspect in the case. He's being held at the Richmond City jail on unrelated pornography and weapons charges.
Heartbroken, Behl's mother told reporters today that she's anxious for police to find her daughter's killer.
"My prayer is for my next news conference to be announcing the arrest of the sick and subhuman that murdered my beautiful daughter," said Pelasara.
If that person is caught, she says she wants them to die for stripping her of her daughter.
She said, "May the court see fit to give him the death penalty so he may continue his downward spiral into the depths of hell."
So far, no one has been charged in Behl's death. The cause of her death is still unknown.
