An accident along a busy Albemarle County road sent three people to the hospital.
Officials say an SUV heading north on Monacan trail smashed into a Ford Escort at the Plank Road intersection.
All three people in the Escort, two women and a baby, were taken to UVA hospital, one of the women was airlifted. Police say everyone was wearing their seatbelts. No one in the SUV was injured.
