Charlottesville police are investigating the abduction and the rape of a woman early Wednesday morning. Police are now putting out an urgent plea in search of the two men involved in the incident.

Just after 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning, a woman was walking alone when she claims she was forced into a car at the corner of 12th Street and Rosser Avenue in the northwest section of the city.

"They drove her to some place, she doesn't know exactly where she was. She feels like they didn't drive far enough to leave the city limits--she thinks she was still in Charlottesville. She was sexually assaulted by both of these men," said Captain Chip Harding.

The woman somehow got home and called police. She was transported to an area hospital and treated for several bite wounds to her body. The first suspect is described as a 40-year-old black male, dark complexion, and approximately 6'0 tall. The second suspect is described as a 40-year-old Hispanic male, who was last seen wearing blue athletic shorts and a striped shirt.

"We do want people to be aware. Particularly a lot of the students coming back into town that aren't aware of the fact that they can get hurt," said Captain Harding.

Two UVA students who live in the area say they have heard of problems in the past and always buddy up.

"Always walk with guys and friends. I have never gone home alone," said student Kelly Ross.

"I try to make sure [not to] ever walk home alone. Especially at night, we try to stay relatively close, especially to the Corner area where there's are a lot of people around," said student Whitney Walker.

The woman was treated and released form UVA Medical Center.

Police are looking for a car that they can only describe as a four-door dark blue car with a large body style. If you have any information in this case, police ask you to call Crimestoppers, at 434-977-4000.
