Charlottesville's communications director shut his office door for the last time Wednesday night.
After six years of being the face of Charlottesville, today was Maurice Jones' last day working for the city.
He has accepted a job as director of gifts at the University of Virginia Miller Center.
Jones says today is bittersweet. ?At this point it?s mixed emotions for me. Although I am very excited about the opportunity at the Miller Center I am very saddened I am leaving lots of friends and colleagues here as well,? said Jones.
Maurice isn't wasting any time starting his new job. He begins his new post tomorrow morning.
Today the city named Ric Barrick Interim Director of Communications.
