Virginia Senator Russell Potts was on the campaign trail in Charlottesville today.
In addition to greeting local residents on the Downtown Mall, Potts toured University of Virginia Hospital this afternoon in an effort to get up to speed with health needs. As chairman of the senate health and education committee, Potts believes funding new technology is critical to the health system's success.
"It's probably the profession that has the most rapidly changing technology and my goodness when you have a new piece of equipment and then in two years it's outdated they have to get more," said Potts. He also added that as chairman of that committee he will try to keep up to date on all the new procedures.
Potts has won six elections, has 14 years of legislative experience and says he's hopeful Virginians will make him governor.
