The Meadowcreek Parkway is closer than ever to becoming a reality--but it's opponents are still fighting the construction.
The group, called 'Alternatives To Paving,' organized it's first meeting of the year not just to end construction, but also to use the money to promote other methods of travel.
"[We want to] shift that spending towards walking, biking, and transit and feel that this is going to bring about this type of development--a pedestrian oriented walkable development rather than development you have to drive in order to get to," Stratton Salidis with Alternatives To Paving said.
The parkway should start construction in 2008 and advocates argue it will move traffic smoother on Route 250 and make it easier to get downtown.
