An early morning robbery at a Sheetz Gas Station in Madison County ended today when the robber was killed in a car accident.
Madison County police responded to the Sheetz Gas Station on the 2000 block of Seminole Trail at 1:40 a.m. The clerk reported that an unknown white female, with a stocking over her face, had robbed the gas station for an undisclosed amount of money.
Officers say the clerk's husband tried to follow the robber, but lost sight of the vehicle for a short period of time. He later drove up to what appeared to be a two-car accident, with one person trapped inside a burning vehicle.
It is unknown at this time, but police believe the robber was the woman trapped inside the burning vehicle.
There has been one confirmed death, and another person was transported to the hospital.
We will post more details as they are made available to us.
