From Interstate 64 to United States Route 29 it seemed getting around in a timely manner Thursday evening was next to impossible.

Many bound for the Rolling Stones concert were disappointed to find the only light show they saw were from the brake lights in front of them.

"I'm highly annoyed now. [I'm] $260 into it. I left Richmond at 3:30 this afternoon," said one motorist stuck in traffic.

Many share the feeling on October 6th, a day Rolling Stones fans have been waiting on for months. What they didn't expect was the long wait in traffic on their way to the concert.

"It hasn't been a ride, it's been a crawl for about the last six miles. Up until then, we were doing fine," said one lady waiting in traffic.

"We've been on the road since 5:00. From Richmond," said another person waiting in traffic.

If you thought getting tickets to the 'Bigger Bang' tour was hard, think again. For some it was even harder to get to their seats inside Scott Stadium.

"I've gone to football games, and it's never been like this," said a man stranded in traffic on a charter bus.

Though some concert-goers missed the fireworks and flickering lights at the beginning of the show, they were still excited to get so close, even if it was just to see the lights from officers directing traffic. One fan said she will make it to the show.

"Come hell or high water, we're going to make it, you have to do it," said the woman waiting in traffic.

Despite the slow moving traffic, fans kept their motivation, and continued their chug over to Scott Stadium.

"If we don't make it, it's been a great time," said a lady stuck in traffic on a charter bus.

Eventually traffic did seem to speed up and everyone was in good spirits.
