Democratic gubernatorial candidate Tim Kaine was making his way around Charlottesville on Saturday.
Dozens of volunteers participated in Kaine's 'door to door' campaign on Saturday.
Kaine and crew ventured through different neighborhoods to address resident's questions and concerns about his stance on major issues.
Kaine says Charlottesville is a very important part of his campaign.
"It's a very close race. The race is [described by everybody as] a dead heat right now, kind of a statistical tie, and so a lot of Virginians still have to make up their minds in the last 17 days, and if we can knock on a few doors and talk to a few people, we can get it over the goal line," said Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate, Tim Kaine.
Kaine, who's run and won four contested races before, says he's got a good feeling about how the election is going to turn out.
