Film lovers all over Virginia will be flocking to Charlottesville for the 18th annual Virginia Film Festival.
Injustice is the theme of more than 60 films that will hit the big screen. Celebrities including Vanessa Redgrave, John Grisham, and Sissy Spacek will be on hand to view the films.
This year they have added an award competition that lets the audience get involved in picking the 6 new films that fit the theme.
"Films that have been acclaimed at film festivals all over the country but have not gotten distribution and that's the injustice. These films are high quality and yet people can't see them so what we're doing is we've collected them, and we're giving the audience a chance to vote," said Richard Herskowitz, the Director of the Virginia Film Festival.
The event kicks off Wednesday night at UVA's Newcomb Theater and continues until Sunday October 30. Films shown during the day are $6, and $8 for nighttime showings.
