For several months now you have probably heard about Places 29 and how it is development along Route 29 will improve the flow of traffic as well as bring more businesses to the area. You don't have to just hear about it anymore.
Today anyone from the community will get a change to view what Places 29 has in store for Charlottesville, Albemarle County and the major stretch of highway, Route 29.
Developers in Albemarle County have displayed the proposed plans in the Old Albemarle County Building on Preston Avenue. The County Planning Department says the most important part of this project is the community's feedback on what they want to see.
"I think it should be easy for people to follow, to walk through and look at it," said Albemarle County Senior Planner, Judith Wiegand. "We do have a guide for them to start with to explain the order of the exhibits, but if they want help we will be happy to talk to them even if it isn't during one of the times the exhibit is planned to be staffed."
If anyone would like to become part of the e-mail list and receive local information about meetings and happenings of Places 29, just email Judith Wiegand at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The project is still in public process, but the county doesn't expect to start development until sometime in 2007.
