RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Two Virginia elementary school science teachers have been named recipients of the Presidential Award for Excellence.
President Barack Obama on Friday announced the selection of 102 math and science teachers from all 50 states.
The Virginia winners are Stephanie Chlebus of Charles Barrett Elementary School in Alexandria and Elizabeth Miller of Maude Trevvett Elementary School in suburban Richmond.
The winners receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation for use at their discretion. They also are invited to the nation's capital for an awards ceremony.
