The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission hosted its annual legislative luncheon Tuesday afternoon.
Representatives from Charlottesville and surrounding counties got a chance to discuss their concerns with local elected officials before they head to the next General Assembly session.
Transportation, public safety and education funding were some of the issues discussed.
"What the state does and what the General Assembly does during January, February and March impacts the work of local governments greatly," said David Blount, the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Legislative Liason. "It's important as they head down to Richmond that they're well aware of the concerns and wishes of local governments in this area."
The next General Assembly session will begin Jan. 11.
