There was a shooting in southern Albemarle County late Tuesday afternoon.
Police responded to a call for a gunshot victim around 5 p.m. just outside of Scottsville. They arrived at Fair View, which is a farm with multiple houses, finding a man in his own home with a wound to the head. He was alive and breathing, but unconscious.
"There was a white male with a head wound. EMS arrived, Pegasus was notified and came to the scene and transported the victim to UVa hospital," said Cpl. Robert Beck of Albemarle County Police Department.
The man was air-lifted to the hospital. We do not have an update on his condition. This is an on-going investigation.
