Members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church on Rugby Rd. are trying to figure out a bizarre act of vandalism.

Members of the church say someone chopped down and stole several trees from the church's landscape on Christmas Eve.

The trees served as a buffer zone between the church and neighboring train tracks.

Church members say they take pride in their landscape and are disappointed and surprised by the vandalism.

"I think it's kind of crummy that people would come along and do it, and when you're trying to make something look nice for other people just to come along, I don't know why they would do it," said church member Pamela Gale. "It's rude."

If you have any information about the vandalism, you can contact the church office at (434) 293-3133.
