Charlottesville Police Arrest Wanted Man

Charlottesville Police arrested a man wanted on several outstanding warrants.

Charlottesville Police arrested 22-year-old Damar Parler this afternoon at the Garrett Square Apartment complex. Parler was wanted on several outstanding warrants including felony grand larceny, felony unauthorized use of a vehicle, three counts of misdemeanor assault and battery, and one count of misdemeanor vandalism.

Police surrounded his apartment around 5:30 p.m. Three officers rushed the front door and three rushed the back. Parler attempted to flee by jumping out the second story window but he landed right into the arms of the awaiting officers.

When Parler was arrested, he was found to have a 9 millimeter pistol on him. Police have also charged him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. No word on if bail has been established.
