Local non-profit director and affordable housing advocate,
Dave Norris, has announced he will run for Charlottesville City Council this year.
Norris kicked off his campaign at Rapture on the Downtown Mall. The Democrat has worked in active community roles since moving to Charlottesville 10 years ago. His campaign will focus on four themes: affordable housing, educational opportunities, racial disparities, and environmental sustainability.
"I've learned a lot over the years, and I've met a lot of good people, I know where a lot of the resources lie, I believe I can bring that experience and apply it on a citywide level," said Norris.
City Council elections will be held on May 2.
