City Council Discusses Same-Sex Benefits for Employees

August 22, 2013

Charlottesville City Council is considering extending benefits to employees of the city with same-sex partners who were legally married outside of Virginia.

The ordinance was brought up at Monday night's council meeting, and legislation was proposed by Dave Norris.

Members of Cville Pride say it's exciting, and a great way to lead up to the 2nd Annual Charlottesville Pride Festival.

The Pride Festival is scheduled for September 14th.

Charlottesville City Council will continue their conversation about the ordinance in the next couple of months.
