Albemarle Co. Police Searching for Suspects in Credit Card Thefts

Sept. 9, 2013

Albemarle County Police is seeking the public's help in identifying three suspects who stole credit cards from purses in large office areas, and then used them to make fraudulent purchases.

On Thursday, Sept. 5, three suspects walked around office facilities for a while, looking for unattended purses in offices, and were then picked up by a beige or gold colored mid-size passenger car.

Law enforcement officials say the three suspects are wanted in connection to thefts in two locations, involving four victims.

Police say the suspects took wallets or just credit cards from the wallets. They would then go to gas stations, pharmacies and department stores and purchased gift cards and pre-paid cell phones using the stolen credit cards.

If anyone recognizes them and/or their car, please contact Detective Michael Arcoraci at 434-972-4048.
