Jury Finds Charlottesville Man Guilty of Raping UVa Student


On Friday, a jury found 20-year-old Manneh Vay guilty of abduction, rape, and forcible sodomy.

A Charlottesville man has been found guilty in the rape of a University of Virginia student.

On Friday, a jury found 20-year-old Manneh Vay guilty of abduction, rape, and forcible sodomy.

On September 23, 2012, police responded to a reported rape in the 1200 block of Wertland Street. A 17-year-old female student said she had been at a party, when she was forced into a bathroom and raped.

Vay was arrested a few days later.

The jury has recommended a sentence of 30 years.
