Armed Bank Robbery on Timberwood Boulevard

Albemarle Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Sonabank on Timberwood Boulevard.

Police say that the suspect had a handgun, and ran off with an undisclosed amount of cash. No on was injured during the crime.

Surveillance cameras caught an image of the suspect, who is described as a white male, between 6' and 6'2'' tall and around 160lbs. Police say he was also wearing a pair of dark glasses with tape in the middle. He had on blue jeans with a dark sweatshirt and a baseball cap.

Albemarle Police Sergeant Sean Hackney says that neighbors should be alert, but not concerned.

"Just be mindful of your surroundings...we're fairly confident that he's left the area either on foot or in a vehicle so we're not really too concerned with the immediate area but people should still be mindful."
