Duke got on the board with :46 left to play in the first half on a 6-yard touchdown pass from Anthony Boone to Jamison Crowder, cutting the lead to 22-7 at halftime.

The Blue Devils dominated on both sides of the ball throughout the second half, scoring three touchdowns and two field goals on their way to a 35-22 win. Duke tight end Braxton Deaver had two touchdowns in the fourth quarter and finished with 96 receiving yards in the game.

Quarterback David Watford completed 20-of-38 passes, finishing with 263 yards along with a touchdown and an interception. Freshman running back Taquan Mizzell had 52 yards rushing on 6 carries, while Parks added 133 total yards for the Cavaliers.
