A 25-year-old man from Esmont died early Saturday morning in a single-car wreck.

Albemarle County Police say 25-year-old Andrew Lively was driving westbound on Irish Road just outside the town of Scottsville around 3 a.m. Police say his car ran off the left side of the road and hit a tree.

Lively died at the scene.

Police say the speed appears to be a factor in the accident, but the crash reconstruction team continues its investigation.
