Holiday Sharing Event Gives to 100+ Families in Need

December 7, 2013

Student volunteers of the Madison House at the University of Virginia hosted their annual holiday sharing event.

Volunteers gathered a list of more than 110 families in need in the Charlottesville community. They then donated boxes of food and presents for this holiday season.

Students spent several months collecting donations and connecting families with sponsors to help out with Holiday Sharing.

“I think volunteering and service is very important,” says Jacob May. “I think just connecting to your community and helping out to those in need is also important especially during the holiday season.”

Santa was also there to take pictures with families.
