Charlottesville Police are hoping their new crime prevention class will help keep folks safe.
Their "Refuse to Be a Victim" class kicked off Thursday at City Hall. It teaches the basics of crime prevention and awareness. Instructor Harvey Finkel says it’s the little things people forget that could keep them from being a target.
"The subjects that come up are things like lock your doors to the car, take your car keys, don't leave your handbag in the cart when you’re looking around," said Harvey Finkel of the Charlottesville Police Department.
The free class is held twice a year and is open to the public.
