Ever want that shot to be an actor or actress, but you never moved to Hollywood? The good news is there's still a chance.
One place we may be seeing some activity is on Avon Street. The property is owned by the Charlottesville Department of Public Works--and they are leasing a unit to the movie's production company.
So how can you be an extra in Bruce Almighty?
The casting call is being held right here at the Carver Recreational Center on 4th Street in Charlottesville, next to the historic Jefferson School.
The first session is between 10 a.m. -- 1 p.m., or the afternoon session, which is between 2 p.m. -- 6 p.m. You have to be 18 years or older and the main types they are looking for are neighbors, reporters, police, construction workers, and congressmen. So you may want to come dressed for the part.
Evan Almighty is starring Steve Carell as Evan Baxter and Morgan Freeman as God. Evan is a congressman at this point and God commands him to build a giant ark--which is currently being built in Crozet. The façade of a neighborhood is also being built in the Old Trail area.
We're expecting to see the stars begin to arrive in Charlottesville starting mid-March and filming soon after. We also know that both Charlottesville and Albemarle have been in contact with the production company to make sure filming is safe and smooth for all the neighbors involved.
