Car Fire Slows Morning Commute on Rt. 29

Traffic is moving again on Route 29 in Albemarle County after a car fire slowed the Friday morning commute.

It happened around 6:00 a.m. this morning on Rt. 29 and Woodbrook Drive.

Albemarle County Police say the driver of an SUV rear-ended another car in the intersection and caught fire.

Southbound traffic was blocked for more than an hour this morning.

Nobody was seriously hurt.
