A car accident in Greene County Thursday morning takes the life of a forty-seven-year-old Barboursville woman.
Virginia State Police say Barbara Key Jenkins was driving east on Preddy Creek Road in Ruckersville when she came to a sharp curve in the road at the cross street of Walnut Way.
The driver's side door opened, partially throwing the driver out of the car. Authorities say she was not wearing a seat belt. The car veered off the road, flipped over, and hit a road sign.
State Police say the accident happened at 5:40 am.
Jenkins was driving a Chevy Tahoe, and was the only person in the car. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
