One of two Democrats fighting for George Allen’s Senate seat stopped in Charlottesville today.

Jim Webb spent three days touring the Commonwealth on what he calls "Operation: Take Back Virginia."

The U.S. Senate candidate told a crowd at UVa today about his background as a decorated Vietnam veteran, a journalist, and congressional aide. Webb is also the author of six best selling novels including one that was made into a major motion picture.

"When I do something, I'll give it everything I have. And I didn't want to do this halfway. We crossed the line of departure in February, and we are giving it everything we have," explained Webb during his speech.

Charlottesville was just one of six stops on his three-day tour.
