The 2,300 acre historic Bundoran Farm in southern Albemarle County will be preserved.
According to the new owner, Qroe Farm, the proposed plan is to keep about ninety percent of the land undeveloped.
The rest of the land will be used for homes, riding trails, and two fishing ponds. Officials said all of this will be done in an environmentally friendly way.
"We are taking complete steps to keep almost all of the open fields in active farm use in perpetuity," said Robert Baldwin, the President of Qroe Companies.
Officials said the county fair will still be held at Bundoran Farm. The proposed plan will be brought in front of the planning commission for a final approval in early June.
