The Places29 master plan is one step closer to becoming a reality.
The group will be moving ahead with a hybrid map that links the two most popular alternatives for the U.S. 29 corridor together.
At a meeting Tuesday, the Albemarle County Planning Commission along with the Board of Supervisors got a chance to look at the plan.
The hybrid combines a parallel road network with an uptown near the airport. Planners are pleased with the progress so far.
"Everybody's been kind of leaning towards that same thing...Feeling like we need more than just improvements to 29 for all the future development that's likely to be here. So basically I was very happy that people saw that," said Albemarle Co Senior Planner, Judy Weigand.
The next step would be to present another draft of the hybrid map with preliminary information.
