The Albemarle County teenager killed in a car crash last weekend was remembered during a memorial service Wednesday afternoon. Friends and family gathered at a local church to remember and celebrate him.
Family and friends, which include classmates and teachers, gathered to remember 17-year-old Nolan Jenkins at the First Baptist Church on Park Street. Inside Albemarle High School, they all are celebrating a friend they've lost.

The 17-year-old senior and star lacrosse player was killed in a car crash on Thomas Jefferson Parkway near route 20 in Albemarle County. Police say speed and alcohol played a role in the accident.
Jenkins was expected to sit with his fellow seniors in June to graduate Albemarle High School, but that will no longer happen.
The friends and family are saying good-bye just how they say Nolan Jenkins would have wanted with food an music.
People are still inside the high school cafeteria celebrating the life of Nolan Jenkins two hours after they started. Many of them told us the news of Nolan's death is still a big shock, and they are focusing all their efforts on supporting Nolan Jenkins.
Police are still investigating a party where they say 19 teenagers were in attendance, and some drank alcohol. There have been no charges filed yet.
