Business executives got a peek at the future of the local economy today.

The Thomas Jefferson Partnership for Economic Development held a special investor luncheon at the Double Tree hotel. The Commonwealth's secretary of commerce and trade spoke along with the general manager of Lexis Nexis. Looking forward, the view for Charlottesville’s economy looks bright.

“Our greatest opportunities are growth in the area of information technology, homeland security of course, NGIC national ground intelligence center's announcement of bringing added jobs into this area,” said Bob De Mauri Executive Director of the Thomas Jefferson Partnership.

Economic leaders also say more jobs will be created in the healthcare field.
