The Jefferson-Madison Regional Library will be providing more services thanks to donors.

The Fiends of the Library gave the Charlottesville branch $50,000 for new programs. They will hire a reading specialist, a young adult author to speak, and buy new equipment to digitize old print archives.

"Each year we look at: What does the library need? What is public funding unable to fund? Then we try to give the library patrons the best service we can give them," said Peter McIntosh with Friends of the Library.

The group raised about $160,000 total.
