Well-balanced and ready to drink is how finalists, Jefferson Vineyards describe their award winning wine. The winery picked up two gold medals in this years Virginia Wine Awards.
250 bottles of wine were entered and only a dozen of them were winners, so Jefferson officials are hoping that will encouraging wine drinkers to try a taste.
"If a winery has a gold metal then maybe wine drinkers will say 'wow these [judges who] really know wine, love this wine that much than maybe I should give it a try,'" said Andy Reagan, of Jefferson Vineyards.
This years top prize, the Governors Cup, has not been awarded yet but officials at Jefferson Vineyards are keeping their fingers crossed.
