AAA says this is going to be the busiest 4th of July holiday travel weekend ever and the city of Charlottesville wants to remind everyone to be safe on the roads.

Police and fire officials say the amount of traffic accidents involving teens is alarming and they want parents and young drivers to be on alert, to wear seat belts and don't do anything that will distract you from the road.

“We just want everyone to be safe. We don't want anyone getting into an accident and we don't want any alcohol related accidents. We want everybody to have a great time but be careful when you are on the road,” said Charlottesville Police Sgt. Mike Farruggio.

City police say they will have more officers on the streets as well as DUI check-points throughout this holiday weekend.
