Hot Lunch for Cool-Aid

June 28, 2006

A hot lunch today will help some people cool down this summer. The Jefferson Area Board of Aging and Whole Foods held a "goodwill grilling" event this afternoon.

Lunches were sold with all the proceeds going to JABA's Cool-Aid program. The program buys air conditioners for people who most need them to keep cool in the hot weather.

"Our funding source, our only funding source is the community so as long as the community supports this program as they have over the years, we'll keep providing the air conditioners to those that have that medical need," says JABA's David White.

JABA normally gets air conditioners for fifty to one hundred people. This year they already have 80 requests.
