Not straying away from what has dominated the headlines for weeks, Barack Obama focused on the economy at a speech in Richmond Wednesday, criticizing McCain for not supporting a second stimulus package. A notion that has begun to gain some momentum and could be passed by congress after the election.

"After nine straight months of job losses, with our federal reserve chairman supporting another stimulus to get our economy moving, senator McCain failed to get behind a bipartisan plan for a stimulus," said Obama.

McCain has said that he wants to wait to see how the economic bailout plan is working before making a decision on a second stimulus package, but Wednesday Obama said Americans can't wait.

"The hardworking families who have been hit hard by this economic crisis, these folks who can't pay their mortgages or their medical bills or send their kids to college. They can't afford to go to the back of the line behind CEO's and Wall Street banks. They need help right here," said Obama.

Obama also told the crowd his plans to bring jobs back to the U.S.

"I've proposed a new American jobs tax credit, for each employee that companies hire here in the United States," said Obama.

And Obama continued to try and link John McCain to President Bush, a message that did permeate some in the crowd.

"The last eight years, if you want the same thing, then vote for McCain, if you don't then vote for Obama," said Carolyn, a rally attendee.

I just one to know one thing before I head out for the polls: If Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, being a huge critic of the George W. Bush Administration and supporting strengthened relations with Russia, Venezuela, Syria, Cuba, and the Persian Gulf states, has said that Iran's nuclear program is only for peaceful purposes, and that he will refuse to end nuclear enrichment despite the United Nations Security Council resolutions, and that he's also called for the dissolution of the state of Israel and its government, in fact, he'd like to see it wiped off the face of the planet!, why would Obama be ready, willing, and able to meet with him? What for? If this guy hasn't listened to the U.N. what makes Obama certain he can cut a deal with him, and his other allies? Why is it the heads of state of the countries I just mentioned are dying to see Obama win the election? Why???

I find it funny that you think a man with less than a year in the senate is ready to run this nation. Freshman Senator Barack Hussein Obama II would have been a perfect fit for VP to Senator Clinton of NY. But no, the Democrats once again have to pick a man to lead the party. Have you been watching Freshman Senator Barack Hussein Obama II’s numbers? they have been falling. Yes he is in the lead but all that was gained in the summer has gone. So like the turning of the leaves I too must turn my vote to a Man who has a track record longer than his running record. Without Hillary running I am Proud to cast my vote for Senator John McCain our next President.
