Although it's still summer, school is just around the corner, and that means the Back-To-School-Supplies Drive officially kicked off today.
The Salvation Army is heading the event, and is supported by local businesses and sponsors. This fundraiser gives supplies to Albemarle County and Charlottesville students who are in need. Just look for the large barrels with the salvation army sign to donate supplies.
"There's a list at every location on the barrels that [tells] you what we need for K through Six and then Seventh and Eighth Graders", explained John Erwin, the Public Relations Person for the Charlottesville Salvation Army.
The fundraiser runs until August 11th and you can donate items at such places as Harris Teeter and CVS. There is also a Salvation Army drop off barrel in the Charlottesville Newsplex lobby.
