The group, Veterans of Foreign Wars, wants to erect a monument in honor of fallen soldier Adam Fargo. It will sit in front of the Greene County courthouse.

Corporal Fargo was laid to rest in Culpepper yesterday. The Army Combat Medic is the first Greene County soldier to die since Vietnam. Veteran John Miska said it's a small way to honor those killed while serving our country.

"These young men and women that these monuments represent left their homes and went to war with full expectation[s] of returning, and they did not, and we should not forget," said Miska of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Miska would like to have the monument up by Veterans Day. They're looking for donations to help with the cost. Donations can be mailed to VFW Post 8208, P.O. Box 653, Ruckersville, VA 22968.
