One local accounting firm is determined to help make sure every Charlottesville student is ready for the upcoming school year.

Through the Salvation Army's School Supply Drive, Hantzmon Weibel has collected a record number of back packs. The firm's clients have donated over 300 so far.

For every book bag collected the firm agrees to contribute $20 toward the purchase of school supplies.

"We are a knowledge based firm. The only thing we have to sell is our knowledge, and all of us have benefited from a great education or else we wouldn't be here....So, we have a soft spot for education here," said Phillip Shiflett of Hantzmon Wiebel Accounting.

The book bag drive ends Friday, August 11, and the firm said they will have even more backpacks collected by then.
