The high cost of copper is making stealing it attractive to criminals. On Thursday, sheriffs in Louisa County busted a man for taking 59 rolls of the metal wire.
Tony Dirk Park stole more than 300 pounds of copper from the county's rail road tracks. With an estimated value at $3.65 per pound the wire is worth about $1,000.
