Albemarle County fire investigators say they are trying to decide if two brush fires that broke out Sunday night are cases of arson. Both fires broke out around eight thirty near Ed Jones Road. Fire crews say they got both fires under control by midnight. No one was hurt in either blaze.
One fire broke out along Ed Jones road near Buck Island Road. The second fire ignited further down Ed Jones Road near Rolling Road. Each blaze burned about three acres. East Rivanna Fire Company Chief Scott Goss says because they believe someone deliberately set the fires the Virginia department of forestry will help with the investigation. No word yet on when the investigation will wrap up.
