Police are looking for a man who is wanted in Charlottesville and across the state for scamming the elderly.
Charlottesville Police believe Rickey Nelms conned a 90-year-old woman out of thousands last week. They say Nelms pretended to be a roofer.
Nelson County Police say he is wanted for pretending to be an asphalt paver.
Nelms is also wanted on similar charges in the Tidewater area.
“My guess is he has probably moved on to another community in close proximity to Charlottesville,” said Charlottesville Police Detective Randy Higgins.
That’s why police are warning people to beware of the man.
If you spot him, call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.
