Charlottesville Police are searching for two suspects wanted for attempted robbery. Police say a man approached a woman around 10 p.m. last night in the 1900 block of Jefferson Park Avenue and attempted to steal her purse. The man allegedly wrestled the woman to the ground but she would not give up the purse.
Two nearby residents heard the commotion and came to the aid of the woman in need. Police say it was shortly after the two Samaritans approached the suspect, another suspect jumped in and fended off the Samaritans and fled on foot.
The two good Samaritans were transported to UVa Medical Center and treated for cuts and bruises to the faces. The female victim suffered scrapes to the knees but did not require medical treatment. She also managed to retain possession of her purse. At this point, police have do not have a solid description of the suspects.
