Fluvanna County joined forces with UVa Health Center for
its first health fair.
Over sixty volunteers, pre-med students, and doctors were available for those interested in improving their lifestyles and health. Everything from checking body mass index to getting free mammograms was available to those who usually aren't able to receive the examinations.
"There's some people who don't have the means to get a mammogram so today for those people without insurance mammogram is free," Dr. Marcus Martin said.
Because of the success of Saturday's health fair, organizers say they hope to hold one twice a year in Central Virginia.
