Let the bidding begin. Hundreds of residents have bid on items at the annual Charlottesville Auction.
Forty-seven vehicles, scooters, office equipment and items police have confiscated were auctioned off for the best price. City auction officials said they were pleased with the amount of items they sold this year because it means more money in the city's general fund.
"This is one of the largest auctions that we have had and we sold a tractor trailer, which I have never seen auctioned off here before," said Kelly Okken, a buyer for the City of Charlottesville.
