A water main break in Greene County left people without water Wednesday morning.
The 6" main broke underground along Celt Road.
Students at William Monroe Middle and High Schools were sent home for the day.
Crews finished repairing the main around 1:00 p.m. The Rapidan Service Authority was able to restore water for everyone shortly after.
"You have pets, and you can not water them. You can not do anything without water," said Stanardsville Resident Beth Kuruzovick.
"We just could not for help condition and safety reasons. We decided to close was in the best interest of everyone," said Assistant Superintendent of Greene County Schools Deborah Brown.
Students said it was ironic to be out of school because they were sent home for too much water during a rain storm around Labor Day, and not enough water on Wednesday.
