A group of MBA students at Darden Business School raised thousands of dollars for an emergency shelter. It's part of a longstanding tradition.
For twenty years, the National Association of Women MBAs has donated an average of $20,000 to the Shelter for Help in Emergency (SHE) each year.
This year, the business students raised nearly $21,000 for the Shelter through auctions and events held in February.
"During these tough economic times, it's a wonderful opportunity for us to partner and make dreams become reality for women and children who are seeking our services and trying to get out of an abusive home," says Cartie Lomineck, the Executive Director of S.H.E.
S.H.E. operates 24 hours a day. They have an emergency shelter and hotline for women and children escaping violent or abusive homes. You can find their website http://www.shelterforhelpinemergency.org/
