Members of the Charlottesville Area Mountain Bike club led bikers along several trails. They taught participants basic trail etiquette, safety, and riding skills. The day was filled with fun, but one rider says mountain biking can be a challenge.
"Jumping off the bike after it starts to tip and also getting over the abnormal pain after going over a rock because it usually hurts your behind to go over one, these bike seats are very uncomfortable," Jason Loftus said.
Saturday's event was free and also sponsored in part by Albemarle County Parks and Recreation.
